During the Christmas month, over 600 doctors and staff members have joined the “Hu-La-La Challenge” by swinging a hula hoop and then nominating colleagues to participate in the relay. Contestants competed for “The King of Hula-Hoop”, “The Best Performance Award” and “The Best Costume Award” in the final round of the “Hu-La-La Challenge” in the Christmas Party on 14December. The “Hu-La-LA-Thon”, a hula-hoop relay, also began during the Christmas Party, in which representatives from over 30 departments and wards swung in hoops of different sizes for three consecutive hours in support of OSC.
The Christmas Party also featured other fundraising activities, such as Super Chef with Love, Game Booths and Watermelon-Eating Contest. This year, five super chefs - Dr. Walton LI, Medical Superintendent of HKSH, Dr. William WEI, Assistant Medical Superintendent of HKSH, Ms. Manbo MAN, Director of Nursing Services of HKSH, Dr. Richard LO and Prof. Tony MOK delivered their pastry magic by turning plain sponge cakes into a Santa Claus, Christmas Tree, snowy landscapes, etc., all of which later became parts of the Grand Christmas cake as a symbol of unity and passion through the power of love.
Organised for the first time in OSC Christmas Party, the game booths and watermelon-eating contest also showed the staff commitment to charity with the spirit of Trust and Teamwork in 3Ts.
