Department of Radiotherapy ❯ Our Equipment ❯ Clarity® 4D Monitoring
Clarity® is an intra-fractional 4D monitoring system for radiotherapy. Clarity® 4D Monitoring can be used during prostate treatment for a live image of the target and surrounding anatomy. It utilizes ultrasound technology to provide continuous tracking of the target and imaging of surrounding structures such as the bladder, rectum and penile bulb. Avoiding these structures during treatment will minimize side effects such as erectile dysfunction, incontinence and rectal bleeding. The ability to visualize these structures during treatment allows for better management of intra-fractional target and organ motion, potentially enabling oncologists to create plans with tighter margins around the target.
The Clarity® robotic acquisition probe is designed to maximize patient comfort and can easily repeat image results at each fraction. Clarity® is a non-invasive, imaging technique with no radiation dose. Furthermore, it can be integrated with existing image-guided radiotherapy for optimal soft-tissue visualization.
