Department of Radiotherapy ❯ Our Equipment ❯ Cyberknife®
The CyberKnife® M6 Robotic Radiosurgery System provides a non-invasive alternative to surgery for the treatment of tumours anywhere in the body. For example, cancerous and non-cancerous tumours in the prostate, lung, brain, spine, liver, pancreas and kidney can be treated with beams of high dose radiation with extreme accuracy.
Contrary to what its name may suggest, CyberKnife® treatment involves neither scalpels nor cutting. As the world’s first and only robotic radiosurgery system aimed to treat tumors throughout the body non-invasively, it offers a pain-free, non-surgical option for patients who have inoperable or surgically complex tumors, or who prefer not to undergo surgery.
Key features:
- Unmatched clinical excellence by combining the benefits of Multileaf Collimator beam shaping with continual image guidance and non-isocentric, non-coplanar treatment delivery. The CyberKnife® M6 is able to precisely deliver dose to sub-millimeter accuracy while sparing normal tissues, even for targets that move with breathing motion. This is achieved with indication-specific tumour tracking, robotic mobility, and advanced collimation which enables automatic correction throughout the treatment.
- A patient-focused design which enhances patient comfort that utilizes soothing environmental elements to deliver frameless and non-invasive treatments that are efficient and personalized.
